384 Days Was Worth This Moment

Ana contacted me about photographing the return of her husband Trevor, that had been in Afghanistan for the last 13 months. Right away we started planning the details. The sacrifice that is made by our military men and women is hard to understand until you see it and how it effects the people that are in it.
The day has come, Ana and I are standing in the airport waiting for the call. As Trevor comes down the escalator Ana’s excitement is obvious. It’s been 384 days since they’ve seen each other, and Trevor will meet his young son for the first time tonight. We begin running where he is, me trying not to fall as I run backwards, and Ana trying to carry the baby.
Nothing else in the universe mattered. 384 Days Was Worth This Moment
