Maternity Photos with your Family

Back in the day, when cameras weren’t around, people had no way to capture their beautiful journey of bringing a child into this world. But today, the miracle of pregnancy can be recorded and remembered for years to come.

Your maternity photos will become even sweeter and memorable with your family featured in the photos as well. Older siblings can be incorporated so they don’t feel left out during the photoshoot. Besides, having a toddler or young children in maternity photos is always so cute.

Here, we have mentioned some photo ideas to help you find ways of adding your family in the photos. We guarantee that these will make some of the best family portraits.

The Heart Hands

This is a basic pose that many photographers use. Despite being a common photo, the simplicity of the heart hands is much appreciated and just as sweet. With your family, your partner can stand behind you and put their hand over yours to make a heart.

If you want your child to be in the photo as well, they can make a tiny heart of their own on the side. Another idea is having your partner or you can make one half of the heart while your child makes the other.

Kissing the Belly

Share some love during the photoshoot by snapping shots of your family kissing your belly. You can take a side profile with you standing and your partner kissing your belly while sitting on their knees.

You can also have your older child kiss the belly on one side and your partner or child on the other side, while you stand facing the camera.

There are endless possibilities with this pose so play around and find ones you like the most.

Capture the Silhouette

Arrange the lighting in a way so you can capture your family’s silhouette as you stand holding hands or hugging each other. These photos are timeless. You can print them out and frame them to put up on your mantle or gallery wall.

Again, this is a basic photograph that you can play around with. So take your time and work with your photographer to find the right spot and lighting to capture a pretty picture.

Don’t Forget Bingo!

While your kids and partner are the most important people in your family, you can’t forget your fur babies. Capture some puppy or kitty love by featuring them in some of the photos. You can also take some sweet pictures with any other kind of pet you have as well.

In the end, their presence in the photos is important as they are just as precious as any other member of the family.

Lastly, a simple family portrait with everyone standing or sitting down, gleaming with the anticipation of a new arrival that will bring joy to your family, is just as memorable.
