Posing With Your MiniMe

Posing with your MiniMe, i.e., your child that looks like you, can be tough when they’re young and unwilling to stay still for a family photo. So, in addition to the process becoming tiresome, you’ll also spend a lot of time trying to get a good photo, which may not even come out as desired. Well, there are a few ways to help rectify that situation and ensure that you have great family photos with your child that will last forever. This article goes over these ways to help make clicking pictures relatively easier.

Photographers who specialize in family photos or family members who want to take pictures of their look-alike children can benefit from this article. So, let’s get into it!

Plan the Photoshoot with Your Child

You must remember that even though your child may look a lot like you, they’re still a unique person, and they may have different interests than you, especially considering the age difference. So, you should make it a point to plan the photoshoot with your child, asking them for ideas on the types of photos you should take. Involving them in the process will help you get photos that represent you two having the best time. In addition to that, it will also help them be more willing to pose for the photos knowing that they’re also getting the chance to express their ideas. So, talk to them about the wardrobe and potential places to shoot.

Choose Similar Poses

This tip is more about finding the best poses, and you should pick those that are the most natural for both of you. At the same time, try to create similar poses so that you actually look like the same person but at different ages and sizes.

Pick a Time That Works for Both of You

One of the best ways to make posing with your MiniMe a breeze is to pick a time that works for both of you. Ideally, you want to shoot on a day when you don’t have anything major planned. Posing for photoshoots can be tiring, and getting your child to pose in front of the camera after a long and tiring day is going to be harder than when you both start fresh.

Bribe Your Child

Perhaps the easiest way to have your child do something you want them to do is to bribe them. Know what they like and promise them that after the shoot. So, you can tell them that you’ll give them their favorite snack or the chance to play a video game for longer than usual. Anything works but make sure that you deliver on that promise because your child won’t trust you next time.

Final Thoughts

Now that you know how to go about posing with your MiniMe, it’s time to look for an experienced photographer to capture the two of you.

If you want some beautiful photos of you two, consider Doug Burke Photography. We can help you feel comfortable in your skin and look natural and in your photos.
