When to Schedule Senior Portraits

When to take senior portraits? To create fond memories and heartwarming reminiscences of your venture into adulthood, you should know how to schedule senior portraits.

Note Your Deadline

If you want to utilize your senior photos for yearbook ads or the football program, then it would probably be best to take your senior portrait before school begins.

Take note of the senior yearbook deadline. In some places, the deadline is set towards the end of October so be warned.

Perfect Season for the Right Reasons

You should note when nature will look its best in your locale. For a flowery photoshoot, schedule your senior portrait in the spring.

Your choice of clothes will have a big impact. Confident in your skin and love your figure? Late spring or summer may be a good time to rock those hot pants, tank tops, and fashionable attire that will flatter your physique.

The fall season may also be good if you like sober, fuller, and warmer clothing. And lots of leaves.

Attire Hunt

Getting the right wardrobe is paramount for awesome senior portraits. It pays to take your time since your apparel is after all a powerful statement of your persona.

You should have an eclectic mix of attire – this can include hipster, casual, trending, artistic and sporty.

Your clothes speak volumes about you. So feel free to spread your wardrobe shopping spree over 3 months.

You might think that it is best to start your wardrobe shopping as quickly as possible. There is just one caveat though. Finding fall clothes might be a hassle during the onset of summer.

Hairstyle

Your hairdo is another emphatic statement of who you are. Hairdressing is advised 2 weeks in advance of your photoshoot. Don't get a haircut too close to the photo session. Things might get hairy if the haircut turns out to be a disaster and you don't have enough time to grow back your hair. Safe to say a bad hair day is every self-conscious teen’s worst nightmare. Especially when the photoshoot is looming large.

Props and Equipment

You can hold props and other equipment to project your scintillating persona. Buy your stuff at least a week in advance. This will give you enough time to check your stuff and buy replacements if you are not satisfied.

The Night Before the Big Photo Shoot

Needless to say, you require a good night's sleep to look all fresh and rosy on the big day. Easier said than done. It might be challenging putting yourself to sleep while your mind is racing with thoughts on the hotly anticipated photo session.

Also make sure that you check all your attire, props, and equipment.

Iron your apparel to immaculate crease-free perfection. Don't fold your clothing. Put them all on cloth hangers.

Take care of nail polish, fingernail trimming, moisturizing, and shaving.

Keep your hair, makeup, and personal care products in order so that you can apply them in a flash before heading off to the photographer.

Apply the moisturizing lotion in the morning of the big day and don't forget Chapstick.

Take it easy with tanning. You don't want to look orange or some other freaky hue in your senior portrait of all things.

Gents should ensure that facial hair is trimmed to perfection.

Scheduling Senior Photo Session

Want to schedule your senior portrait session so that nothing goes wrong?

Get in touch with a good photographer. They have tons of experience and know-how to pull it off in style.

And one more thing. Good photographers are in short supply. And there is obviously a high demand for them. So you will have to check early to see if they will be available on your chosen day.

So what are you waiting for?
