Must-Have Wedding Photos

There are countless precious moments at weddings, and if you’re taking photos, you definitely want to be able to remember all of them. Naturally, you’d want your wedding album to be full of memories that you and your partner would look back on fondly as your love for each other grows through the years.

You can’t capture every moment, but you can capture some of the most important ones! Here are some of the must-have wedding photos for your album.

Bridal Suite

With all the excitement that goes into helping the bride get ready, you definitely want to get some pictures of the bridal suite. The gown before it’s been worn, the accessories, the bride getting her hair and makeup done, her standing with her family - you want to capture these moments!

You also want a bridal portrait, which is a full-length shot of the bride in her dress. These could have special poses, like the bride looking at her reflection or out a window, or they could just involve her sitting or standing and facing the camera.

The Groom

The groom also deserves some of the limelight! Ideally, you should have more than one photographer who can capture these moments since you don’t want to miss anything on either side.

You want to capture the groom with his best man and groomsmen, him getting ready and interacting with his family. You also want a groom’s portrait, which is the same as a bridal portrait, but obviously, focused on the man of the day.

First Look

Not every couple does this, but some choose to see each other in their wedding gear at the ceremony, and this moment is definitely magical. You want to capture that look and all the love it holds for your wedding album!

The Ceremony

While the couple is undoubtedly the main focus, you also want to get some good shots of the party in full swing - that is, you want the venue with the seats and the canopy, the food, the cake and the setup.

You also want to capture some of the key moments of the ceremony itself, such as the guests pouring in, the entourage walking down the aisle, the groom waiting for the bride.

Try and capture some of the expressions! You’d be surprised how much emotion is visible in them, even through photos

You definitely also want to capture the most important bits - like the bride walking down the aisle, the exchange of vows and rings, the ‘I do’ and the kiss.

And of course, you want to get those recessional pictures! You definitely also want to get those special pictures of the newly married couple leaving from their getaway car!

Doug Burke Photography has had several photoshoots for weddings, and can help you get all the pictures that you need to make your wedding album memorable. We can assure that you’ll have a great experience and the best photos. For more information, call us at 336 486 9932.
